(Questions & Answers)

Here's the answer to the question. Glad we could help!

 Question Number: 192Type: Perennials/General Questions
Q
I have a hibiscus that I planted last spring. It doubled in size and bloomed until frost. So far (mid April) it has not shown any sign of life. I've seen no new leaves. Have I lost my plant or will it eventually grow?
A
Perennial Hibiscus are notoriously slow to start growing in the spring. In northern areas they may show no signs of life until well into June. So... just cut all the old dead tops to the ground and be patient. Chances are good that it's just still dormant.
